This week has been very full and very fun. Monday we went to Buffalo Wild Wings with Tomm, Ari, and Abbie and then went to see the new Star Trek. Tues night was Jason and my date night for my birthday. We ate at this Japanese restaurant that is near our house and it was horrible! The food was so bland and the sushi was so scary looking. I'm really surprised we weren't sick the next day! We went to Nelson's Ice Cream afterwards to make up for it! Wed was my actual birthday and Jason sent me a beautiful bouquet of roses and calla lilies to work. We had church after work and then went out for ice cream with Ari after. Thursday we had a birthday dinner with the Fremont's. Sat we helped some friends paint their new house, went to a grad party, and then went home for what I thought would be a relaxing evening at home. Jason wanted to go for a walk when we got home and we ended up taking a much longer walk then he is usually up for. He has a route that he likes to take, but we deviated from the normal path and took a much longer walk. When we got home he made a comment about leaving the blue ray player on. I went to put my shoes away and suddenly there was a living room full of people yelling "Surprise!!!". I was totally freaked out. Terrified! It took a few seconds to realize that I did know who these people were that were in my house. It was a fun evening of volleyball in the park, brats on the grill, homemade ice cream, gifts, and lots of laughs :)
I told Jason I didn't want a surprise party or any type of acknowledgment that I was turning 30. Monica looked at me sheepishly at the party and said she hoped I wasn't mad. I wasn't. Once my heart starting beating again, I was pretty happy and touched.
Sunday I got to spend the afternoon with my little sister. She took me out to eat, to get mani/pedi's, and then to Cafe Latte to get coffee and dessert. She surprised me by having our husbands meet us there.
Oh.. and did I mention that Jason's gift to me are tickets to see Wicked!!
Here is the picture of the flowers Jason sent me at work :)
