For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing
to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning
the thoughts and intentions of the heart. – Heb 4:12
The main part that makes me cringe is how we are making our decisions and how we decide which side of an issue we stand on. Our emotions and feelings. What we (as sinful human beings) think is "fair".
We need, we desperately need to go back to the Bible. It is relevant, it's living and active!, to today's society. Last night our Pastor emphasized how the church is the only place where morals exist in todays world, and sadly not even every church can it be found. How important it is to train and teach up the young ones in our church as they are the next leaders. They are the future of our churches. Suddenly, what we are doing in our youth group became much more important to me. Even if the jr high girls can be extremely quiet and won't answer a question that is directed at them, and all the frustrating things that go with the ministry, it's vitally important that we make the Gospel available to them every week.
I wish I had better writing abilities and could express myself better or have lots more time to put ton's of research and links on this post. But the main cry of my heart here is to urge people to pray. Don't forget to pray for our church leaders, our church members, our children, and our country. God is still at work.
