I have a very funny husband. His humor is one of the reasons why I married him. Because of his humor, I like to share his party invites with anyone who will let me as I get a good laugh out of them and why not share a laugh?

Here is the email he sent out to a select few friends and family members for a 4th of July party. Enjoy :)

Hello everyone. I wanted to extend an invitation to you all for a little 4th of July fun. Maybe you’ll even see this kid, an Asian-American I’m assuming
Picture
This picture is of what we ate last year. unfortunately Megan and I had to take a second mortgage out to pay for the meat, so we might not have as much as this, this year
Picture
And here are some pictures of the tubing fun we had. Poor little Bayley had a rough outing as you can see. She didn’t quite understand how to hold onto the tube, thus she got thrown pretty good. maybe not the best idea to
put a 1 year old on a tube by herself…
Picture
I can’t believe Mercy got this high!
Picture
Oh look, Kyle and Marie, holding hands and loving life
Picture
How do you spell wipeout? M E G A N
Picture
So I like a little speedo. No reason to judge!
Picture
And then these people, got eaten by a shark not long after this (Jaws reference)
Picture
So as you can see, so much fun can be had. We’re thinking about firing the grill up around noon, then hitting the water AT LEAST 30 minutes after eating. Cramping while swimming isn’t a joke kids, this can happen to you
Picture
Oops wrong picture, I meant this!
Picture
I would ask that everyone brings a dish to share, meat will be provided. Probably Brats and burgers. Please RSVP if you are or aren’t coming. That way we have an idea.

Then after tubing and eating, if people want to hang around and then go down to Stillwater for fireworks we can hop on a

And see some

5K's and Frosting

This is totally true.
(I stole this off of someone's facebook page. I'm sorry.. I don't have references to reference. Is that bad?)

Jason and I were trying to run more as we had entered into a 5K race that his sister and her family were putting on as a fundraiser. (They are wanting to adopt from Ethiopia) I won't say too much about who did more running before the race than who, or who said one of us wasn't enough competition for the other one of us to motivate that one of us to run, and so I shouldn't mention that the one who did more running and the one that wasn't competition for the other beat the other. Was that confusing enough for you? :)
It was actually a really nice morning for the run, a bit on the humid side. A handful of us ran and the rest walked. I was just determined to run the whole thing. I'm a pretty slow runner and this course had a LOT of hills (Thanks Steph :P). After the race there were raffles and kids races put on and face painting throughout. All in all a fun way to raise money for the Smidt's adoption.

As I mentioned in the last post, Jason's sister from CA (Ali) and her family were here for the above. The race was the 15th and Ali and her kids were in MN for another week yet. So we spent time with them as much as week could, and even got to be with them during a crazy storm. I wish I had a picture of how hard it was raining and wind blowing. Never in our lives had we seen rain like that! Trees and power lines were down in lots of places and some people were without power for several days. Thankfully, not us. They left this past Sat and we were sad to see them go!

This past  (and/or last? I'm losing track) week I also started a morning bible study with my friend Ari, we had men and their wives from Jason's bible study over for a bbq and to play volleyball, a grad party, and the church picnic. Busy is how we like to be :)

Last night Jason got together with a friend, so I had a few hours at the house alone. What did I do with it? Read, baked, drank coffee, and watched Gilmore Girls, what else would I do?! Oh! Mom will like this, I also spend a few min in the garden. Yes only a few min, it's needs my mother's touch (HINT MOM. THIS IS A HINT).

Here is a picture of my wonderful coffee in my Vanilla Bean Cafe mug and the sugar cookie bars with PURPLE frosting I made.
Picture
If you would like the recipe it's here: http://www.highheelsandgrills.com/2012/08/sugar-cookie-bars.html Note, I did half the amount of frosting they said to make and it was just perfect.

To end this post, I feel like this picture is the best way to end. It has nothing to do with my post. I just had fun playing  around with an app I have :)

For the love of baseball

My husband loves sports. One can probably figure this out pretty quickly if you have read a few of my posts. He played college baseball, but his love of sports doesn't start and end there. I only see him following basketball, football, and baseball when he is home, but he'll get in conversations with other men and he is going off about every sport from hockey and soccer to rugby! He also plays in a softball and basketball league throughout the year, he recently gave up his touch football league as I had asked if he could cut back on one thing (I'm selfish.. I miss him too much when he is gone!) I can't keep up with his love of sports. I can't even try. I decided that I can pick one and to get into that as much as I can so we can enjoy that together. My pick has been baseball. I grew up with baseball being a big deal in our house. When my dad was growing up, his job on the farm was to listen to the Twins game on the radio and keep his dad updated on the score (this was of course when he was too young to help his dad with jobs that were more farm related :). The Twins were the only team that they could get on the radio out in MT at that time, so they were by default huge Twins fans. Dad passed on his love for the Twins to us kids. We went on more than one road trip to MN (a 9-10 hour drive) just to go to a game. It quickly became a pretty special thing to get to go to a baseball game. As the Lord would have it, He allowed me to marry a man who loves the Twins! It's fun for me to get to share in what was special with my dad, to something that is special with my husband. So needless to say, we go to a lot of games during the spring/summer. We do feel crushed when the Twins do really bad, so we have to stay away for a while... but it doesn't take long before we are back in the stadium.

Yesterday we had a really fun opportunity to watch the Twins batting practice. I know! This doesn't sound like all the much fun to a lot of you. The fact that we were at the stadium a total of 6 hours probably makes it sound the exact opposite of fun!  However, it was a blast. Our nephews, Noah and Landon who are 7 and 6, got to sit in front of the Twins dugout during batting practice and the players would come and talk to them and give them autographs throughout that time. All of us adults stood behind the dugout wishing it was us in their place :) It was the closest I've ever been to a player, and as silly as it sounds... I was a little star struck lol. These are the men that we have been cheering for and frustrated over for years!

When the Phillies were up for their bp, Jason got the chance to yell at Swarzak "I believe in sasquatch too!" which resulted in a thumbs up and a smile from Swarzak as he was heading into the Twins dug out. He also let Ben Revere know that we missed him and he was rewarded with a smile, wave, and a "Thank you!" from Revere.

We moved to stand in the outfield during the Phillies bp in hopes of a home run ball. A camera man asked Noah if he'd like to help him out with something. The result was that Noah and Landon got to be part of the Twins introduction on the big screen. Sadly I didn't get a picture of Landon's screen time, but here is Noah's!

Picture
Mauer just happens to be Noah's all time favorite player, so this was super fun to see.

The game itself was a lot of fun. I told Jason that I hoped the Twins would win, and he responds with the response he knows I hate, "Eh, I just want a good game". The Twins did win, 4-3. I can't recap a game, but just know I jumped out of my seat with my hands in the air multiple times.

Here are a few more pictures from the game:

To briefly update you on other Fremont goings on.... Jason's sister, Ali, from CA is here with her family. Noah and Landon are her boys. We've been enjoying evenings after work hanging out with them, playing our own mini baseball games, fishing, and of course enjoying lots of good Becky Fremont food. Last weekend Jason and I helped some friends of ours move into their first house and I went to a bridal shower for one of his cousins.
This coming weekend we are looking forward to watching Man of Steel with our good friends Tomm and Ari and running in the Smidt's 5K fundraiser.

Two Year Anniversary

6/4/2013

Today is our two year anniversary. When I say that, it shocks me that it's only been two years. Not because life seems to be going by slow now that I'm married or anything.. the exact opposite is true. It's because I feel like Jason has always been a part of my life, so to hear that it's only been two years is so crazy to me. That's such a short time, and it does feels like just yesterday that I was all dressed up and walking down the aisle on my dad's arm to make Jason go from being my boyfriend/fiance to my husband... Yet... How has Jason only been my husband for only 2 years??
My husband. Such a sweet and fun phrase to use! To think, I never wanted to get married! Maybe I should rephrase that? Maybe it was just that I was content at where I was in life, or rather, where the Lord had me at in life. I wasn't worried about if I'd ever get married or worried about the fact that I was getting into my late 20's and hadn't found him yet. This is not me saying I'm so godly I never questioned what the Lord had for me! Not at all! I'm just thankful that this wasn't something that I worried about. Matthew 6:25-27 rings so true:
“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will
wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away  in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?
God's timing was perfect. Of course. I wasn't even worried about finding a husband, or even ask for one, and yet the Lord provided Jason for me at the most perfect time in my life. Sometimes I start to think and wonder (worry?) why I didn't get to meet Jason when I was younger. Why was I 28 when I got married (not that I think 28 is old! so young! :) and not 25? I'm so thankful for what the Lord has brought me through and what I was able to learn about Him while I went to Grace Community Church and was challenged in many ways spiritually before meeting Jason. To then find out that Jason grew up in a church very similar to Grace Community and how much a like we are in what we believe! So wonderful!
Jason is a kind, compassionate, funny, godly man. He makes deep friendships and truly cares about people. He takes on ministries at church with such a passion that it's obvious he doesn't take them on half-heartedly! Once I moved out to MN, it was so evident that serving in the church was a passion of Jason's and once we were engaged and then married, it was/is such a blessing to see how he involves me in the ministries he is involved in and how easily we fell into serving together.
I love Jason and am so thankful for the 2 years we've been given together so far!  How sweet these first two years of marriage have been, getting to know how to be the wife he needs and seeing him become the husband I need. What a blessing!

This past weekend we celebrated our anniversary by going camping at Split Rock Lighthouse State Park. It was just the two of us. Instead of spending the evening before we left packing, getting food ready, getting the tent and sleeping bags packed up, we went to a Twins game with his parents.
Picture
So that meant Friday we left work a bit early, packed as fast as we could, and drove a little over three hours to make it to our campsite before it closed. We set up camp and enjoyed a camp fire the first night. Here is our little camp!
Picture
It was a pretty sweet campsite. We were close enough to hear the waves off of Lake Superior yet off the path enough to feel like we were the only campers in the park. Sat. we went hiking around our campsite, went on the day trail hike and up to the light house. We then went into Grand Marais (about 45 min north) and had lunch, the world's greatest donut, looked in some shops, skipped rocks off of the lake, and even played some mini golf. It was a fun time away from the norm where Jason and I could just enjoy having some time alone :) We got back to camp in time to roast hot dogs before it started raining. We then got some good reading done in the tent! Sunday we packed up and went to Gooseberry Falls to hike around in and finished our trip by having breakfast at The Vanilla Bean Cafe. That was where we had breakfast right before Jason proposed to me, so it's a very special place to me. Here are some pictures from our weekend.

As you can tell from a few of the pictures, it was kinda chilly. It was a very fun weekend and we have already started talking about the next time we go back!

Happy Anniversary Jason!! I'm so thankful that you are my husband :) Love you much!

Enjoys his wife's homemade pizza and wonders how he survived so long without her. He is also a wonderful father to a little girl that just adores him and a little man that will one day be just like his daddy.
