Yesterday we had a really fun opportunity to watch the Twins batting practice. I know! This doesn't sound like all the much fun to a lot of you. The fact that we were at the stadium a total of 6 hours probably makes it sound the exact opposite of fun! However, it was a blast. Our nephews, Noah and Landon who are 7 and 6, got to sit in front of the Twins dugout during batting practice and the players would come and talk to them and give them autographs throughout that time. All of us adults stood behind the dugout wishing it was us in their place :) It was the closest I've ever been to a player, and as silly as it sounds... I was a little star struck lol. These are the men that we have been cheering for and frustrated over for years!
When the Phillies were up for their bp, Jason got the chance to yell at Swarzak "I believe in sasquatch too!" which resulted in a thumbs up and a smile from Swarzak as he was heading into the Twins dug out. He also let Ben Revere know that we missed him and he was rewarded with a smile, wave, and a "Thank you!" from Revere.
We moved to stand in the outfield during the Phillies bp in hopes of a home run ball. A camera man asked Noah if he'd like to help him out with something. The result was that Noah and Landon got to be part of the Twins introduction on the big screen. Sadly I didn't get a picture of Landon's screen time, but here is Noah's!
The game itself was a lot of fun. I told Jason that I hoped the Twins would win, and he responds with the response he knows I hate, "Eh, I just want a good game". The Twins did win, 4-3. I can't recap a game, but just know I jumped out of my seat with my hands in the air multiple times.
Here are a few more pictures from the game:
This coming weekend we are looking forward to watching Man of Steel with our good friends Tomm and Ari and running in the Smidt's 5K fundraiser.
