Youth Group Valentine's Day Banquet

2/13/2013

Every year the youth group (ages 13 - 18) put on a Valentine's Day banquet for their parent's. We give the kids a few weeks of Wed's to brainstorm ideas for a theme and then split them up into kitchen crew, entertainment and decorating.  This year the kids wanted to do a Medieval theme. Here are a few pictures from the night:

The kids came up with the idea to do a Late Night With Conan The Barbarian for the entertainment. Sam was Conan and he interviewed Joan of Ark, Lancelot, Maid Marian and Fryer Chuck. He was going to interview Repunzel, but Anna (who was playing Repunzel) couldn't make it due to the weather. So they told the parents Repunzel got tangled up in something and couldn't come.

The kitchen crew made a stew with bread and veggies. For dessert there was banana pudding (very yum). All in all it was a fun night and the kids did great!

Last year's theme was a wedding theme, this year was medieval, what will next year's theme be?

I'm a Christian. I'm a wife to a wonderful man and a mother to a sweet little girl and a handsome little man. I've lived in MT, MN, KS, CA, N.Z., I like to travel. I love dark chocolate and coffee. I grew up on a farm and never learned to drive stick, I went to a two-room school house for nine years, I love Fall in MN (except for the fact I'm always cold), I miss the Montana Sky, and I'm new to blogging.

Enjoys his wife's homemade pizza and wonders how he survived so long without her. He is also a wonderful father to a little girl that just adores him and a little man that will one day be just like his daddy.
