This past weekend Jason and got to take a day trip up north to Duluth, MN. Duluth is a very special place to us as that was where Jason asked me to be his wife three years ago on Oct 2! Every year around this time we take a little day trip up there to celebrate and to enjoy a day away with each other. Jason is great at humoring me with things like this. I'm very sentimental and love our little tradition of celebrationg our engagement anniversary :)
This year we brought our dear friends Tomm and Ari. They got engaged one year ago on Sept 28th! How fun it was for us to share our tradition with our friends!
We left out house at 7 am and made a stop at Tobies for some amazing cinnamon and caramel rolls. We then drove to Two Harbors to eat breakfast (yes.. you can judge us for having two breakfasts :) at The Vanilla Bean Cafe. This was where Jason and I at ate right before he proposed. I always request we go back every year :) We then hiked around Gooseberry Falls until it started raining. We then got to meet up with Kyle, Marie, and Ava for coffee as we waited for the rain to go away. Then it was off to the beach where Jason dirtied a knee three years ago, then to the aquarium, and then skipping rocks off Lake Superior, and answering all of Jason's "what would you do if" or "for $100 would you..." questions. (he has an endless supply of these questions... )
It's hard to believe that we got engaged three years ago and have now been married 2 years and 4 months. To have my question of "how does one just know?!" when it comes to the man they are to marry answered is such a sweet relief ... one really does just know (which is more of a peace the Lord gives you than anything else)! So very thankful for Jason!
Here are a few pictures from our trip!
