My husband. Such a sweet and fun phrase to use! To think, I never wanted to get married! Maybe I should rephrase that? Maybe it was just that I was content at where I was in life, or rather, where the Lord had me at in life. I wasn't worried about if I'd ever get married or worried about the fact that I was getting into my late 20's and hadn't found him yet. This is not me saying I'm so godly I never questioned what the Lord had for me! Not at all! I'm just thankful that this wasn't something that I worried about. Matthew 6:25-27 rings so true:
“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will
wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?
Jason is a kind, compassionate, funny, godly man. He makes deep friendships and truly cares about people. He takes on ministries at church with such a passion that it's obvious he doesn't take them on half-heartedly! Once I moved out to MN, it was so evident that serving in the church was a passion of Jason's and once we were engaged and then married, it was/is such a blessing to see how he involves me in the ministries he is involved in and how easily we fell into serving together.
I love Jason and am so thankful for the 2 years we've been given together so far! How sweet these first two years of marriage have been, getting to know how to be the wife he needs and seeing him become the husband I need. What a blessing!
This past weekend we celebrated our anniversary by going camping at Split Rock Lighthouse State Park. It was just the two of us. Instead of spending the evening before we left packing, getting food ready, getting the tent and sleeping bags packed up, we went to a Twins game with his parents.
Happy Anniversary Jason!! I'm so thankful that you are my husband :) Love you much!
