We drive over on Friday midday and immediately set up camp. We have the girls set up their own tent, and the boys set up their own. When we were all set, we went over to the park and the kids swam at the "beach". In the evenings we hang out by the campfire, play games, eat dinner, roast marshmallows, and Jason gave a devotional on serving in the church.
Sat we do a lot of hiking around and after lunch we go to the waterfalls. It's a steep walk down, but it's always worth it. The kids jump off "cliffs" into the water, hike up the river, and can walk behind the falls. It's a lot of fun :) Sadly last year I had a migraine so I could hardly function enough to enjoy the falls, this year with being pregnant I didn't want to risk slipping and falling so I sat at the bottom and watched. The kids (and this includes the big kids: Ryan and Jason) had a lot of fun.
The next day we pack up and go to the "beach". Ryan gave a devotional the night before and gave another Sunday morning before we head into Stillwater to go to Nelson's for ice cream.
Overall it was a successful camping trip. The kids enjoy it a lot as well us leaders. It gives us time to be with the kids outside of the church setting and to get to know them more and for them to get to know us more.
Here are a few pics!
